Lead Software/Data Engineer
Esperto Medical is a medical technology startup dedicated to delivering the future of healthcare and expanding access by creating revolutionary non-invasive diagnostic technologies. We're backed by a strong set of investors who are looking to fundamentally improve clinical data and healthcare. Our first product is a novel blood pressure measurement device which builds on patented technologies developed in-house. We’ve published about our tech and are pushing it to the forefront! We bring together exceptional professionals from a wide range of industries, including alumni from SpaceX, NASA, Illumina, Caltech, and other all-star places.
We are looking to add our first dedicated software position – a lead software/data engineer – to adopt and grow our existing codebase, with an emphasis on computational correctness and industry-standard coding practices.
Responsibilities
Our system spans a wide set of domains. On the embedded side, we have a real-time system which needs millisecond-level precision. On the “big compute” side (backed with GPUs and a couple of ML models), we have a set of complex algorithms that drive and steer the real-time system ensuring the data always comes out pristine.
You’ll be asked to dive deep into this existing code and its outputs. Once you familiarize yourself with the data, it will be your responsibility to shepherd and evolve its storage, processing, and categorization.
As we expand use of our prototypes and move through product design, you’ll also play a key role in ensuring our data infrastructure is ready for the ever-increasing volumes of data we expect to see. You’ll help us pipeline analysis tools and make them self-serve, leading to deeper insights as our entire team gets more hands-on with the data.
Additionally, we’re looking for someone who can help lay the foundation for a strong software org: solid coding principles and review processes. We have a fairly large codebase, much of it in its infancy, and having a senior hand guiding future architectures and habits will set the stage for success.
