Algorithm Engineer
Esperto Medical is a medical technology startup dedicated to delivering the future of healthcare and expanding access by creating revolutionary non-invasive diagnostic technologies. We're backed by a strong set of investors who are looking to fundamentally improve clinical data and healthcare. Our first product is a novel blood pressure measurement device which builds on patented technologies developed in-house. We bring together exceptional professionals from a wide range of industries, including alumni from SpaceX, NASA, Illumina, Caltech, and other all-star places.
We are looking to add an algorithm engineer to work with our greater technical team to enhance our algorithm pipeline.
Responsibilities
As an algorithm engineer, you will develop scalable software solutions for signal processing, image processing, and real-time data handling and analysis. You will work closely with Research and Engineering teams to guide prototype development and to create a robust architecture for the data processing and analysis pipeline, ensuring compatibility with downstream software and firmware. You will design, test, refine, and transition algorithm solutions from prototype to fully operational products, compliant with production standards.
Requirements
- 5+ yrs experience in a scientific role requiring consistent and demonstrated algorithmic thinking and development including, but not limited to: research, engineering, software development, etc.
- Proven track record of taking algorithmic/analytical projects from start to finish
- Strong programming skills in at least one programming language such as Python, Matlab, C++, or Rust, with an emphasis on algorithm development or data analysis
- Demonstrated dedication and ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently toward a common goal
- Strong desire to learn and try new things in a collaborative, cross-functional environment

- Ph.D. or equivalent in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, machine learning, or a related field
- Practical experience in applying machine learning techniques and methodologies
- Experience with software development in a regulated industry (including data science, backend development, etc.)
- Knowledge of advanced programming concepts and best practices for system architecture and performance optimization
- Knowledge of testing methodologies and quality assurance practices
- Experience in designing and developing graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for software applications
